Hend Finished Filming Her Scenes in The Parrot in One Week

Superstar Hend Sabry announced that she will begin filming her scenes in the short Jordanian-German film The Parrot by directors Amjad Elrashed and Darine Salam on Saturday, September 12th, and will be done with all of them within one week.

Sabry's participation in the film comes as part of her tangible efforts in supporting young filmmakers. She has also revealed that her proceeds will be donated to the Syrian refugees in the Arab region.

The Parrot is one of the film projects funded by the Royal Film Commission-Jordan and German Robert Bosch Stiftung Foundation, which funds the best German-Arab film projects. The film had won the Best Short Film award earlier this year.

The film narrates the story of the Jewish Mizrahi family in Morocco as they try to settle down in their new lives in 1948 in occupied Haifa, Palestine.

The Parrot is the 4th short film starring Sabry; previously she collaborated with young directors in their shorts, namely; Sherif El Bendary's Rise and Shine, which screened in 75 festivals across more than 33 countries, the award-winning short Day and Night by Islam Azzazi , took part in a large number of festivals and the Tunisian film One Evening in July by Rajaa Amari .
