Perihan Abou-Zeid in a Panel Discussion on VOD and the Future of Arab Content

As part of the programming at the 12th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF)
(9-16 December), Egyptian entrepreneur Perihan Abou-Zeid's platform MoviePigs, the first online cinema platform dedicated to Arab expats in the USA and Canada, will be part of Dubai Film Market (DFM), landing its first presence at a film festival in the Arab world.

During the DFM, Perihan Abou-Zeid will participate in a panel discussion on Saturday, December 12th under the title 'Fast Forward: VOD and the Future of Arab Content'."

The panel discussion will be moderated by Kamal Nassif, Vice President of New Media at
e-vision/Etisalat. Other guest speakers at the panel include Abe Aboul Naga, Head of Digital at MBC Group, Gianluca Chakra, Managing Partner at Front Row Filmed Entertainment and Karim Safieddine, CEO and Head of Acquisitions at Cinemoz. The discussion will highlight how Video on Demand became the fastest growing avenue for global content consumption and is set to overtake DVD and theatrical as the main distribution channel for independent films.

In its early phase, MoviePigs is targeting Arabs residing at the United States and Canada providing Arab films with English subtitles to open doors for Arab cinema aficionados to connect with creative Arab filmmakers and will soon expand its services to include international indie films in the future.
