Tamer Karawan Is a Jury Member in the Egyptian Catholic Centre Cinema Festival

Composer Tamer Karawan will participate as a jury member at the 63rd Egyptian Catholic Centre Cinema Festival. The festival has selected 5 films, which are considered the best productions released commercially in 2014 to be part of this year's competition. All the competing films have been selected in accordance with the ethical and humanitarian criteria outlined by the festival.

Running from February 27th to March 6th, 2015, the festival's contending films are Factory Girl, Coming Forth by Day, Décor, Made in Egypt and Excuse My French. In addition to Tamer Karawan, the jury encompasses actresses Sherine and Rania Farid Shawki, actor Bassem Samra, scriptwriter Bashir El Deek, cinematographer Tarek El-Telmissany; film critic Tarek El-Shenawy; writer Amal Othman with veteran director Mohamed Abdel Aziz as the jury presiden.

Tamer Karawan has taken part in several festivals as a jury member including El Sawy Culture Wheel Festival for Short Narrative Films, the Sawiris Cultural Awards for Best Scenario as part of Sawiris Foundation for Social Development and Independent Film Competition within the 2nd Independent Arts Season.

Besides his musical career, which kicked off in 1998, Karawan's repertoire extends to include directing and producing documentary films.
