Hend Sabry: Embratoreyet Meen? Is a Black Comedy Criticizing Reality

Scheduled to air Ramadan, Hend Sabry has shot nearly 70% of her scenes in the new TV comedy Embratoreyet Meen?, taking into account that outdoor scenes features more than 60 locations within Egypt and abroad.

Directed by Mariam Abu Ouf, Embratoryet Meen? Is created by Hend Sarby and is written by Ghada Abdel Aal who previously collaborated with Sabry in the popular TV comedy Ayza Atgawiz. The TV series co-stars Mohamed Shahin, Salwa Khatab, Ezzat Abu Ouf and Badrya Tolba.

Commenting on the black comedy that criticizes the current state affairs through the TV series, Sabry said "we cannot ignore the crucial changes taking place in the last three years. People won't accept these changes unless they laugh at them. Laughter is the fastest way to unite, and we seriously need to unite without discriminations or divisions."

Embratoreyet Meen? tracks Amira's family (Hend Sabry) that has just come back to Egypt to face the political and social changes taking place in the Egyptian society for the last few years. The Family consists of her father (Ezzat Abu Ouf), her mother (Salwa Khattab), her husband (Mohamed Shahin), and her brother-in-law (Mohamed Mamdouh) and his wife (Razan Gamal).

The new comedy features cameo appearances of several celebrities as guests of honor, including the late Hussein Al Imam, Yousra, Hany Ramzy, Mohamed Farag and many others. The TV's new teaser was released earlier this month.
