AmrYoussef Starts Shooting Scenes in Maadi for Zarf Aswad
Egyptian star Amr Youssefhas started shooting his outdoor scenes in Maadi, Cairo, for his new TV drama Zarf Aswad. Starring Dorra, Salah Abdallah, Ingy El Mokadem, Mohamed Mamdouh, FirasSa'id, Yasser Ali Maher and Mahmoud El Bezawy, Zarf Aswad will premiere next Ramadan.
Amr has revealed details on the new TV drama which follows Youssef, a man who loses everything including his family. At the time Youssef's life is on the brink of a dramatic collapse, everything takes a nightmarish turn unexpectedly when he receivesa black envelope that opens gates of hell where specters incessantlybrawl.
On his role in Zarf Aswad, Amr commented “In Zarf Aswad, I play a different type of character. The seriesitself presents an unconventional idea that introduces new dimensionsto the Egyptian drama. Zarf Aswad is about greed and what actually happens to those who enter this canny world. There are some people who can perceive this world's nefariousness and there are others who are beguiled by its fake splendor. So, the question imposed here is;what would have happened if this black envelope was not opened?”
Based on a story by Ahmed Medhat, who also helms the TV series,Zarf Aswad is written by AymanMedhat and is produced by The Producers, Aroma Pictures and the United Brothers. Zarf Aswad marks Ahmed Medhat’s third TV directorial effort after Al Sayad, which was aired last Ramadan, and Arafa Al-Bahr, which in Ramadan 2012.
Amr Youssef’s most recentTV drama isAd Tanazoli, which aired last Ramadan and gained massive success. For reflecting Egypt’s recent political turmoil, Ad Tanazoli was selected by The National Council for Human Rights (NCHR)to rank at the first place as the best drama in 2014.
