Seventh Neighbor Reaches 9 Million Views on YouTube

Only two weeks after the show aired on Al Youm and CBC Drama TV channels, Seventh Neighbor series by directors Ayten Amin, Nadine Khan and Heba Yousry reached over 9 million views on CBC Drama's official YouTube channel.

On social media platforms, especially Facebook, the audiences raved about the series and its authenticity in portraying the social traditions that are prevalent in every Egyptian home.

This is the first 60-episode series to air outside of the Ramadan season, and to be directed by three young female directors: Ayten Amin, Nadine Khan and Heba Yousry. The series is co-produced by The Producers and Film Clinic.

Seventh Neighbor airs from Saturday to Wednesday at 06:00 PM on Alyoum channel and at 07:00 PM on CBC Drama. Seventh Neighbor is a social drama that touches on family issues of a group of neighbors who live in the same apartment building in Heliopolis. Through a number of intertwined stories, the series follows the main characters' secrets behind the closed doors, in contrast to what they show of great happiness, and tracks the social problems they face and difficult choices they have to make alongside the contradictions in what they show in behavior inside their homes and outside.

Seventh Neighbor stars Dalal Abdel Aziz, Shereen, Hani Adel, Rahma Hassan, Osama Abbas, Heidi Karam, Sarrah Abdelrahman, Mohamed Alaa, Doaa Hegazy, Safaa Galal and child star Ahmed Dash. The series is written by Heba Yousry, who also co-directed the series with Ayten Amin and Nadine Khan.

Young director Ayten Amin had a previous experience as a co-director in the documentary film Tahrir 2011: The Good, The Bad, and The Politician along with Amr Salama and Tamer Ezzat. In three chapters, each director presented a different side of the Egyptian Revolution. Amin's feature film Villa 69, starring Khaled Abol Naga and Arwa Gouda, received the Special Jury Award for a Film from the Arab World within the New Horizon Competition at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival.

Nadine Khan started her career as a co-director with director Youssry Nasrallah, then with her father, the great late director Mohamed Khan in Banat West El Balad. Her feature debut Harag W' Marag (Chaos, Disorder) (2012) received eight awards at several film festivals including the Special Jury Award at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF).

Heba Yousry is a director and actress who studied Filmmaking at the Higher Institute of Cinema. Shortly afterwards, she wrote, directed and starred in her film Another Passion that screened at the Festival International de Programmes Audiovisuels (FIPA) in France.

Yousry's feature documentary Settou Zad, My First Passion landed its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). The film narrates the life story of her grandmother, the salient singer Shahrazade, from her own point of view. Heba Yousry has previously co-directed the TV sit-com Tamer w Shawkeya. Heba also starred in Ayten Amin's Villa 69, Mohamed Khan's Factory Girl and Ma'moun Wa Shorakah series.
