Tamer Karawan Member at The Independent Films Competition Jury within The 2nd Independent Arts Season


As part of his continuous effort to encourage young filmmakers, Music Composer Tamer Karawan joined the Independent Films Competition jury part of The Independent Arts Season, which ended on May 8th, 2014. Besides Karawan, the jury included Director Saad Hindawi and Scriptwriter Zainab Aziz.

The Films Competition boasted 29 documentaries and features, which competed for 4 funding awards of EGP 15000 for each director as a mean to support them on their next directorial project. The Independent Arts Season was held with the support of The Cultural Production Affairs Sector at Egypt's Ministry of Culture's. The event was organized by the Young Independent Artists Association and has chosen actress Yousra to be the honorary president of this edition.

Tamer Karawan took part as a member of the jury of several film festivals including El Sakia Festival For Short Feature Films and the Swiris Foundation's Best Screenplay Award as his experience expands beyond just music composition, which he started in 1998, and reached other fields such as directing and producing documentaries.
