Shereen Reda Joins the Jury for the 41st Cairo International Film Festival

Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) announced that Egyptian superstar Shereen Reda has been selected to join the jury of the Best Arab Film competition within its 41st edition (20-29 November). The competition also brings together jury members: Producer Asma Graimiche and Festival Director Eduardo Guillot. The Best Arab Film's monetary award is worth USD 15,000.

This year, the festival will be dedicated to the late Artistic Director Youssef Cherif Rizkallah, who shall posthumously retain his post. The festival will also honor the legendary American-born filmmaker Terry Gilliam and salient Egyptian director Sherif Arafa who will both be accepting the Faten Hamama Honorary Award, in addition to Menna Shalaby who will receive the Faten Hamama Excellence Award.

In its 41st edition, the festival lineup boasts 150 films, including 35 international premieres. Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, has also been selected as the festival's opening film.

This year, Shereen Reda starred in three films: Al Daif (The Guest) by director Hadi El Bagoury and writer Ibrahim Issa, Diamond Dust and The Blue Elephant: Dark Whispers by director Marwan Hamed and writer Ahmed Mourad. The latter went on to gain over EGP 102 million in the Egyptian box office. Reda's latest film Ras El Sana is set to be released soon in theatres.
