iProductions Reveals Teaser Posters for Mawlana and Wedding Song within Berlinale
Within the 66th Berlinale, iProductions revealed to Variety magazine the teaser posters of two new film projects, namely; the new film Mawlana by director Magdy Ahmed Ali and the TV hit
Wedding Song by director Mohamed Yassein. iProductions is taking place in Berlinale as a partner with Arab Cinema Center (ACC) where it is presented by its CEO Amgad Sabry.

Organized by MAD Solutions, ACC landed another edition within Berlinale (11-21 February), where the Center announced its year-round partnership with Variety magazine as its media partner. The magazine has published the two teaser posters for the film and TV hit within its festival dailies describing Wedding Song as "Egypt's biggest-budget TV production this year". In addition, Screen International magazine published its report highlighting the company's future projects entitled "iProductions to plough millions into Arab films".

About Mawlana

Written and directed by the award-winning director Magdy Ahmed Ali, Mawlana is based on
Ibrahim Issa's best-selling novel which is shortlisted for the Arabic Booker (International Prize for Arabic fiction-IPAF) and 11 editions of the book have been published since its release.

During Berlinale, iProductions released two posters for the film featuring star Amr Saad with a logline says: "There are more than 120,000 preachers and imams in Egypt. This is the story of one of them..."

Mawlana is produced by iProductions with Mohamed Al Adl (El Adl Group) as Executive Producer. The film stars Dorra, Farah Youssef, Ahmed Magdy and Ahmed Rateb.

Mawlana tells the story of the well-known preacher Hatem Al Shenawy who hosts a series of moral, ethical and religious debates through his popular TV show, which enjoys worldwide audience of millions of people. Best known for his clear-cut and sensible answers to questions posed by callers and guests, Hatem's audiences are unaware of his inner conflicts. He has to conceal what he really thinks about religious issues, especially under the restrictions imposed by the state security. On the personal level, he has an unstable relationship with his wife, which is currently on the stake as a femme fatale breaks into his life.

About Wedding Song

Wedding Song is a new TV hit based on the novel of the same name by Egyptian Noble laureate in literature Naguib Mahfouz. Directed by Mohamed Yassein, the new TV adaptation is his third TV directorial effort after Al-Gamaa'a (2010) and Mouja Harra (Heatwave). With a dramatic treatment by Mohammed Amin Rady (Al A'hd), the Wedding Song stars Mona Zaki, Eyad Nassar, Saba Moubarak, Mohamed El Sharnouby, Rania Youssef, Ahmed Salah El Saadany and Dina El Sherbiny. The TV hit is produced by iProductions in collaboration with Alshorouk Productions and JWT. The TV hit is planned to be aired in Ramadan 2016.

Set against the backdrop of the 1970s, the story tracks a theatrical troupe during a script reading session, where the protagonists realize that they're being exposed to their sordid past. They try by all means to stop the play which is exposing their dirty secrets, but the producer insists the show must go on. The story unfolds through the narrations of Taheya, who joins the troupe in search for an opportunity as an actress, until she's mysteriously murdered.
