Tunisian star Hend Sabry Begins Filming In the Name of the Son
Within a few days Tunisian star Hend Sabry will begin shooting her new film In the Name of the Son. Featuring a collaboration with her fellow citizen Ridha Behi at the helm, the film is a special project for Sabry where she's joining as a co-producer for the first time through her Salam PROD., which was announced at Cannes Film Festival 2015, in addition that it marks her come back to the Tunisian cinema. Sabry's scenes are planned to be completed in six weeks.

Hend is playing the role of a Tunisian woman who goes through an arduous journey during the tragic current Syrian situation. In the Name of the Son will be filmed between Tunisia and Lebanon and stars Hicham Rostom and Fatma Nacer from Tunisia along with Bassam Lotfi, Mohamed Al Rachi and Jihed Zoghbi from Syria.

Hend Sabry describes hernewcharacter in In the Name of the Son as "A Tunisian nurse is going through a perilous trip to Syria in order to save her son, who is found at one of the major conflict points there. The film is tracking her story from a neutral humanitarian perspective."

Sabry's participation in the film comes as part of her plan to participate in several Arab films during the next months. She has already finished filming her scenes in the short Jordanian-German film The Parrot in addition to other film projects to be announced later on.

Recently, The International Arab Film Festival in Gabès has selected the Tunisian actress as the Honorary President of the festival, which came to a close on Sunday 18 October under the theme of Cultural Decentralization. Launching its first edition, the Festival aims to introduce Tunisian and Arab cinema and to promote cinema culture among youths. It also seeks to operate as a bridgehead between audiences and filmmakers and to create varieties of locations or sources for viewing films.
