The Producers Reveals Details on Producing Ana Shahira... Ana El Kha'en by Director Ahmed Medhat
The Producers has announced the beginning of the pre-production phase of turning writer Noor Abdulmajeed's novel-duology Ana Shahira and Ana El Kha'en into a TV series directed by Ahmed Medhat. For the first time in the Arab TV drama, the two-part TV series consists of 30 episodes for each part, narrating the same story, but from different points of view.
This series marks The Producers' second collaboration with director Ahmed Medhat since Zarf Aswad (The Black Envelope) that has been aired in Ramadan 2015 and enjoyed high rates of viewership.
Ana Shahira and Ana El Kha'en is a novel-duology written by author Noor Abdulmajeed and published by Al Dar Al Masriah Al Lubnaniah in 2013, in two separate books. Abdulmajeed recounts the story from the perspectives of its two main characters, Shahira and Raouf, each in a separate book. The first book presents the story as experienced by Shahira, and the second book is from Raouf's, her partner, point of view. Infidelity and revenge make up the central idea of the story, so after Raouf has betrayed Shahira, she decides to avenge her dignity by doing the same, out of wrath, but it turns ugly for both of them.
This comes after The Producers has announced its acquisition of the rights to adapt Nabil Farouk's novel Man of the Impossible into film and TV productions. The company has also acquired the rights to adapt Ibrahim El-Mahallawy's novel Dragunov that will be turned into a film soon. Previously, The Producers turned Mohamed Sadek's best-selling book Hepta into the highest-grossing romantic film in the history of Egyptian cinema, Hepta: The Last Lecture, as the film's revenues reached more than 26 million EGP.
Saudi feminist novelist Noor Abdulmajeed was the Editor-in-Chief of Mada Magazine in Saudi Arabia for two years, and an assistant editor at the Rotana Magazine. Many of her successful novels and anthologies got published, including her anthology W A'adat Cinderella Hafeyat Al Qadamayn (Cinderella Returned Barefooted), the novels Al Herman El Kabeer (The Great Deprivation) and Nesaa Wa Laken (They Are Women, but...), in addition to the novel that turned into a successful TV series of the same name in 2015, Oreed Rajolan (I Need a Man) starring Dhafer L'Abidine and Eyad Nassar.
