The Producers Acquire the Adaptation Rights of Ibrahim El-Mahalawy's Novel Dragunov and Turns it into a Film
Immediately after The Producers wrapped up the filming of Hadi El Bagoury's Hepta: the last lecture, they will carry on with their plans to turn successful literary works into films. Executive Producer and co-founder of The Producers Executive Producer and co-founder, Hani Osama revealed that the company acquired the rights to adapt Ibrahim El-Mahallawy novel Dragunov, which will be turned into a film soon.
Commenting on this step Osama stated, "Dragunov is unique and exciting as it articulates the events that came across Egypt in the past few years, which encouraged us to turn it into a film. Besides, the public reaction to turning the novel Hepta: the last lecture to a film was very remarkable, which made us excited to go through the worthy experience again. Currently, we are at the script-writing stage".
Published in 2015, Ibrahim El-Mahallawy's novel Dragunov received 3.54 out of 5 degrees from users of the well-known Goodreads.com. The events take off after National Security officer Magdi Al-Mohandes being transferred to the internet control department caused by his outraged leaders. Magdi begins to follow the blog entries and videos of an enigmatic person, who claims to be a sniper, who rebelled against his leaders after failing to assassinate the vice president and many dangerous secrets starts to reveal. with in Magdi's attempts to entrap this sniper, he realizes that the situation is complex and more serious.
Ibrahim El-Mahallawy is an Egyptian writer, novelist and dentist. He has published several novels, including, Sorrow Suits Ibra (2012) that was issued in an English version, Kol Al Toroq Tadol A'la Youssef (2012), Saqat Sahwan (2011) and Qamar Al Eshq Al Elahy (2009). In addition to his prize-winning short stories, Qabl Al-Ehtedar Beqaleel (2012) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina story competition in 2012, Bedoon Hezaa Afdal (2009), together with Momatala, and Q.Q.J.
