Australian film The Furnace, starring Ahmed Malek’s and directed by Roderick MacKay, is slated to commercially release in the UAE between March 22-26, at The Theater- Mall of the Emirates. This comes only a few days ahead of the film's release across Egyptian cinemas with English and Arabic subtitles. In addition, it will be distributed across further Arab countries soon.
The Furnace will be screened at The Theater-Mall of the Emirates at 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM (+4 GMT) on March 22, 23 & 24 and at 09:00 PM on Friday, March 26.
The screenings will be held at The Theater-Mall of the Emirates, in collaboration with its managing company, the Art for All cultural venue.
The Theatre is a cultural venue with two magnificent stages with a capacity to host theatrical performances, film screenings, workshops, dance shows, performing arts classes and more.
The main theatre guarantees a magnificent performance experience, and also accommodates an audience of more than 500 persons, and VIP spaces. Furthermore, it provides workshops and activities for students that help broaden their social awareness beyond school boundaries.
Location: The Theatre, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. The entrance is on the second level of the mall’s parking, between rows A5 and A6 (on the Ski Dubai side of the mall).

The film landed its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival, where it immediately gained international critical acclaim and was described as “An enjoyably absorbing experience†by Variety and “Brutish western is tough as old leather and good as gold†via The Guardian. Malek also received positive reviews on his performance in the film: “Egyptian actor Ahmed Malek (a Screen Star of Tomorrow in 2018) is immediately engaging as Hanif†as it was stated by the Screen Daily.
Furthermore, The Furnace landed its Arab premiere at El Gouna Film Festival where it garnered a wide audience and critical acclaim. Tarek El Shennawy praised Ahmed Malek’s performance in the film saying:†Malek is truly talented in acting and deserves to be a global actor.†Moreover, The Furnace’s premiere has fueled a frenzy between audiences on social media, topping the most researched and reacted upon on Google.
