The European Film Screenings 2015 Offers an Audience Award
For the second year the European Film Screenings (EFS) in 2015 is bringing a new Audience Award to be presented to the audiences who cast their votes to rate the films. The participating audiences are receiving at the entrance of each screening voting cards where they will fill in their ratings to the film they watched. One voter will be extracted randomly through a draw, which will be held on the closing ceremony, October 31st, to choose between one of two awards: a one year newspaper subscription, a courtesy of The National newspaper and a couple of standard tickets to watch a movie of their choice at any of Novo Cinemas' venues across the UAE. Other film tickets, courtesy of Novo Cinemas, will be available for a supplementary draw.
The European Film Screenings is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development in the UAE and is hosted this year by the Embassy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg together with the Embassy of the EU Delegation to the UAE and is supported by Novo Cinemas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The event is being directed for the second time around by Alessandra Priante, Founder and Artistic Director of the event, who has curated the selection of the 18 European films together with the participating European Embassies in the UAE.
In addition, the program is boasting a roster of impressive Emirati short films selected by the Emirati Cinema Campaign to be screened before the evening screening of the European films.
Screenings will be hosted by Novo Cinemas through 21-30 October 2015 in its Abu Dhabi- based venue at WTC Mall and starting 22 to 31 October at Novo Cinemas in Dubai's Ibn Battuta Mall.
All screenings are free of charge and seats are allocated on a first come/first serve basis.
