The Conjuring Scares Up US$41.5 Million in the US
The Conjuring landed at number one at the US box office in its first weekend of release earning US$41.5 beating movies with budgets four times the size of the film. The film debuted with a new record for an original R-rated horror film.

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, The Conjuring tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.

The Conjuring stars Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson and is directed by James Wan. Untied Motion Pictures, the biggest film distributor in the Arab world and the sole distributor of Warner Bros. films in Egypt will release the film in Egyptian theatres.
