Within its partnership with the Arab Cinema Center (ACC), Studio ZAT will be part of the 13th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) (7 - 14 December), where it will announce more details about its upcoming activities with its Executive Manager, Ahmed Samy, in attendance.

Studio ZAT is set to reveal details about its filmmaking workshop, Ground Zero, which encompasses a slew of key Arab film professionals, in addition to offering services for casting actors and couching professional and/or fresh talent actors for production houses.

Previously, Studio ZAT has announced its partnership with the Arab Cinema Center during the last round of the Cannes Film Festival, aiming to participate in international festivals and interact with filmmakers from around the world, as well as promoting the studio's activities for training beginners and professionals in the film industry, and recruit international coaches.

A young multiple award-winning actor and director, Ahmed Samy, ZAT's Executive Manager, started his career as a Team Leader at Cairo University Theatre in 2006, along with other theatres. He founded Hussein Mahmoud Theatre Group, which did not stop him from participating in many acting workshops.

Samy has also worked as an Assistant Director on the Swedish film Under Pyramiden. He also worked as a Casting Director on many projects, including Kamla Abouzekri's TV series Wahet Al Ghoroub (Sunset Oasis), Director Mohamed Ali's film Dakar Bat, and as an actor, he landed roles in works, including; the film Al Mosafer (The Traveler) and the TV series Al Moghany. He has also worked as a Line Producer and Theatre Manager, in addition to writing scripts for short films and plays.

Ahmed Samy received several awards for theater directing, including; Cairo University's Best Stage Director Award in 2011 and the Special Jury Award of 12th Festival des Jeunes Createurs in 2014. He was also selected by the Institut Françaisd' Egypte (The French institute in Egypt) to attend the Avignon Festival in France in 2014. He also won the Special Jury Award at the Cairo University Festival of Long Shows for the musical adaptation of the play Amadeus by Peter Shaffer in 2016. His first project as a film director and screenwriter, the short film titled The Door (2016), won the Second Best Film Award and the Best Screenplay Award in the The Cairo 48 Hour Film Project.

Studio ZAT aims to offer specialized workshops for amateur and professional actors to advance their craft. Participants are taught by Egyptian and foreign trainers within a suitable environment. The studio also offers an acting workshop, which includes special training concerning cameras, theatre, filmmaking for beginners, theatre direction, body dynamics, scriptwriting, as well as acting workshops for children to bring out their creativity and enhance their communication and storytelling skills.

Arab Cinema Center (ACC) is an international promotional platform for Arab cinema as it provides the filmmaking industry with a professional window to connect with their counterparts from all over the world through a number of events that it organizes. ACC also provides networking opportunities with representatives of companies and institutions specialized in co-production and international distribution, among others.

ACC's activities vary between film market main wings, introduction and networking sessions for Arab and foreign filmmakers, welcome parties, as well as meetings with international organizations and festivals.
