Starve Your Dog by Hicham Lasri Screens at Zawya Cinema on Sunday
MAD Solutions will screen the feature film Starve Your Dog by Moroccan director Hicham Lasri at Zawya Cinema in Downtown Cairo, for one day only, at 7:30 pm on Sunday, August 6, 2017. This is the film's second screening in Egypt after taking part in the Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) where it won the African Federation for Cinematographic Critic Award.

Lately, Hicham Lasri has screened his films at several regional and international film festivals, the last of which is the 14th Béjaïa Film Meetings in Algeria. Lasri won many awards including the Best Direction Award at the Khouribga African Film Festival (FCAK) in Morocco.

Starve Your Dog is an experimental cinematic essay that rewrites the facts of Morocco, by revealing the dark secrets of Driss Basri, the man responsible for countless human rights abuses under King Hassan II's regime. The film stars Benaissa El Jirari and Latefa Ahrrare.

Hicham Lasri is a Moroccan director, scriptwriter and producer. He has ten films including shorts and feature films under his belt. His debut feature film The End (2011) has received many awards. Lasri's trilogy They Are the Dogs, The Sea Is Behind and Starve Your Dog have been taking part in the Dubai International Film Festival for three consecutive editions now, in addition to the critical acclaim and the several awards and honors they have garnered.
