Perihan Abou Zeid Announces MoviePigs' Beta Launch for Limited Number of Users
Two weeks before the official streaming and coinciding with the activities of the 19th Arab Film Festival (AFF) in San Francisco (October 16-25), the founder and CEO of MoviePigs Perihan Abou Zeid reveals MoviePigs beta launch for a limited number of users. This comes during her speech in TechWadi Annual Forum in San Francisco on Saturday, 26 September -3:50 pm (GMT -7) in order to monitor the initial impressions about the platform and develop it before the official streaming next month.
In her speech, Perihan Abou Zeid will speak about media technology in terms of creativity, influence and development. The speech will also touch upon the journey of MoviePigs, from its inception to its official streaming, positioning itself as an online platform for independent films that allows the audience to communicate with talented Arab filmmakers and builds communities to promote indie films and the talents that made them.
In its early phase, MoviePigs is targeting Arabs residing at the United States and Canada, providing Arabic films with English subtitles to open the doors for Arabs who live abroad and wish to communicate with their native culture in addition to all Arabic cinema lovers.
Perihan is a serial entrepreneur, with an extensive experience in web technologies and digital communication. She is the founder and CEO of MoviePigs, a platform for streaming and crowdfunding international films. Previously she co-founded Qabila Media Productions, a digital content creator that operated across the Arab region, and worked with Google Ireland Ltd. as a Business Strategist, where she consulted large tech companies on their digital advertising strategies. In 2012, she was awarded as the Best Female Entrepreneur from the MIT Enterprise Forum - Pan Arab Region. She holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, where she received the Legatum Fellowship for entrepreneurs, and the Dean's Leadership fellowship.
