New Century Grants Its Award to Good Bye, Julia at CineGouna SpringBoard
Good Bye, Julia film project, by director Mohamed Kordofani, received a $10,000 worth award from New Century Production that grants its award for the 4th consecutive year to one of the unique film projects in the development phase at the CineGouna SpringBoard. The program is one of the operating initiatives of CineGouna Platform, held on the sidelines of the4th edition of El Gouna Film Festival.

Directed by Mohamed Kordofani and produced by Amjad Abu Alala (You Will Die at Twenty), Good Bye, Julia, a Sudanese film project, follows a Northern housewife, prior to the separation of South Sudan, burdened by guilt, seeks redemption in aiding a Southern woman whose life she unintentionally destroyed.

New Century presents similar awards to Arab films in various platforms throughout the year, including Cairo Film Connection at the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF).The latest award by the company went to About Her by Islam El Azzazi last year.

Organized by CineGouna Platform, CineGouna SpringBoard is a project development and co-production lab that enables Arab film directors and producers with projects in development or films in post-production to find artistic and financial support.

CineGouna Platform is an industry-oriented event created to support and empower filmmakers and industry professionals, aiming to develop promising film projects from Egypt and the Arab world and help them find artistic and financial support. CineGouna Platform presents the CineGouna SpringBoard and the CineGouna Bridge as programs that provide opportunities for sharing and learning through workshops, panel discussions, and master classes led by industry professionals.

New Century is the production arm of Dollar Film for distribution that was first founded in 1949 and became a major film distribution company at that time. Dollar Film is one of a few incorporations that survived in the market up till now. New Century Production aims to support the growth of the Egyptian film market through a constant stream of fresh and professional productions that are captivating and entertaining for both Arab and foreign audiences. The company's most recent productions is The Black Box, staring Mona Zaki, Mohamed Farrag, and Mostafa Khater. The film has been released in Egyptian cinemas recently.
