Nejib Kthiri’s TRINOU to screen at Cinequest, REEF, and Amman international film festivals
The film’s lead actor also got a Special Mention at the recently concluded Avanca International Film Festival
 
Nejib Kthiri’s British-Tunisian short film TRINOU is set to screen this August at the Amman International Film Festival - Awal Film (AIFF), the Cinequest Film and Creativity Festival, and the Rural Encounters on Environment and Film (REEF) Festival.
 
The film will be screening first at the AIFF — which will take place from August 15th to the 22nd in the heart of Amman — then at Cinequest, which is set to take place from August 15th to the 30th in Silicon Valley, and lastly at REEF, which will be running from August 30th to September 10th in Lebanon.
 
The critically-acclaimed short film was also screened at the recently concluded Avanca International Film Festival in Portugal, where the film’s lead actor, Max Pemberton, received a Special Mention for Best Actor.
 
TRINOU tells the story of Omar — a young boy who escapes his failing body and secluded life by traveling in dreams he creates from magazines his mother used to give him.
 
When his stepfather urges his wife to change her approach towards her son and stop giving him magazines, both mother and son take an important and life-changing step.
 
TRINOU world premiered at the CIFF and was nominated for Best Short Film at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival in Kosovo.
 
The British-Tunisian short was also featured at the LA Shorts, Show Me Shorts, and Master film festivals, along with Black Box Cinema at the 2023 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. Moreover, it was nominated for the Best Student Short Film Award at the British Society of Cinematographers Awards.
 
The film stars Max Pemberton — who guest-starred as Dalton in the first episode of Tim Burton's Netflix series Wednesday — alongside Mohamed Grayaa, Kaouther Dhaouedi, and Eleanor Crowe.
 
It was also produced by Seventh Age Pictures Limited and SVP Tunisia, co-produced by London Film & TV, and distributed worldwide by MAD Solutions.
 
Nejib Kthiri is a Tunisian filmmaker and musician living in London, UK, where He studied music and sound engineering at West London University in 2011 and then specialized in cinematography.
 
He is currently in the development stages of his debut feature film.
