Mohamed Khan's Before the Summer Crowds Closes the Luxor African Film Festival
Director Mohamed Khan's Before the Summer Crowds will have its premiere in Egypt and Africa through the 5th Luxor African Film Festival (17 - 23 March). Competing within the Long Narrative Films competition, the film will close the festival events.

Before the Summer Crowds' screening is set to take place with the attendance of several filmmakers and stars, namely; director Mohamed Khan, along with the film stars Hana Shiha, Ahmed Dawood and Lana Mushtaq.

The 5th Luxor African Film Festival is organized by the Independent Shabab Foundation (ISF), which is a non-profit entity that is registered at the Ministry of Social Solidarity and active since 2006 in several fields. The festival is regarded as one of the foundation's most important projects. First debuted in 2012, the Luxor African Film Festival aims for supporting and encouraging African films production and the partnership between continent countries, through the consolidation of the humanitarian and political ties between the peoples of Africa in general and among African artists in particular.

Last December, director Mohamed Khan's film Before the Summer Crowds landed its world premiere at the heart of 12th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) where it was selected to compete in the Muhr Feature Films Competition, which previously hosted the world premiere of Khan's previous award-winning film, Factory Girl, in 2013.

Before the Summer Crowds is co-written by Ghada Shahbandar and Nura El Sheikh, who also participated in the screenwriting. The film stars Maged El Kedwany, Hana Shiha, Ahmed Dawood, Lana Mushtaq and Hany El Metennawy. Set in a seaside resort, the film tracks a group of people who meet each other by the beginning of summer season.

The film is co-produced by five production houses, Middle West Films, Film Clinic, The Producers, and Wika for Film Production and Distribution, and MAD Solutions, which will take charge of the film's international distribution through its distribution arm: MAD Distribution.
