Medhat El Adl Conducts a Seminar on Media and its Correlation with Achieving the National Dream at Pharos University in Alexandria
During the seminar on Media and Its Correlation with Achieving the National Dream, the Pharos University in Alexandria(PUA) has honored poet and writer Medhat El Adl with an honorary shield. The seminar was conducted by El Adl and attended by Dr. Mahmoud Mohie El Din, the President of the University; and his Vice Presidents; alongside Dr. Fawzy Abd El Ghany, the Dean of Faculty of Mass Communication; Dr. Ingy Mahmoud, the Head of the PUA Media Training Centre; and Norah El Desouki, lecturer and organizer of the seminar.
Within the seminar, Medhat El Adl discussed media and its correlation with the national dream and how to achieve it. El Adl also spoke about the release of his new anthology of poetry Shubra Masr- 36 Al Afdal St. that consists of thirty-six poems, in addition to reciting some of his new poems.
The seminar highlighted the life journey of El Adl since graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, to writing songs for salient Arab world singers and script writing for a number of the most famous Egyptian films. Several scenes from his most notable work in cinema were screened as well. El Adl commented, "I started my career by writing songs for Amr Diab and Mohamed Mounir, then I started to write film scripts. I believe that faith is the way to win people's hearts."
The seminar was attended by an umber of teachers and students, and at the end, El Adl presented the certificates of honor to the participants in the training course. Through his official Facebook page, El Adl praised the organization of the seminar and the advanced level of the university and its education system after visiting the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Pharmacy and Drug Manufacturing.
Medhat El Adl is a renowned writer, poet, author, script-writer and Egyptian doctor. His filmography includes a number of important films that became the 1990s classics such as; IceCream in Gleam, Esharet Moror (Traffic Light) and America Chika Bika, Sa'eedi Fil Gamaa el Amrekeia (Sa'eedi in the American University) that topped the Egyptian box office for many years, as well as Hammam in Amsterdam and Mafia, both of which were very commercially successful. For TV, El Adl wrote many successful TV dramas such as; Mahmoud Al Masri, Al Andaleeb, Jews Quarter and Le A'la Se'er (To the Highest Bidder), which is set to be aired in Ramadan 2017.
