Malmo: MAD Solutions and The Producers Team up with Wady Films for Sawah
During the first MAFF Market Forum of 5th Malmo Arab Film Festival in Sweden, MAD Solutions together with The Producers have pacted with Wady Films to co-produce the feature narrative Sawah, by director Adolf El Assal and writer Dennis Foon; marking the first Luxembourg/Arab co-production.

Hani Ossama of The Producers remarked on this deal highlighting the reasons why he became eager to sign the deal saying, "Joining Wady Films and MAD Solutions in a joint production is a very challenging step. Sawah is a fresh film project presenting a mix of the Egyptian and European culture through a story that will attract audiences domestically and internationally."

Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, CEO and Co-founder of MAD Solutions, stated: "Besides being a project bringing together a multinational crew, Sawah is our first co-production deal in the first edition of MAFF Market Forum of the Sweden-based MAFF, which is a step towards the creation of a meeting point between the Arab and Scandinavian film industry, providing more healthy business medium for the Arab industry."

Producer Wekas Gaba stated, "As our first major production with the Arab world, we feel that we found the right partners here in Malmo. We share the same values and I believe this project will be a milestone for the new generation of filmmakers."

Director Adolf El Assal described his film stating, "I am making a film about things that keep people apart -- and the humanity that can bring us together. My hope is to make a truly international film that will help build bridges between us."

Dennis Foon, the film's writer said, "Sawah is a film about identity, borders and ethnicity. A human comedy about some of the most pressing issues of our day. The challenges are great. There is a wide range of characters, the film takes place in at least four countries and is voiced in about six languages."

Dennis Foon, born in Detroit, USA, has written the screenplay for Life Above All, winner of the Prix Francois Chalais at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, and Oscar short listed for Best Foreign Language Film. He's received many international awards for his screenplays, which include A Shine of Rainbows, Little Criminals, White Lies and Torso. An internationally produced playwright, he has received the British Theatre Award and two Chalmers awards. His latest film, On The Farm, distributed by Park Pictures, is slated for a 2016 release.

Born into an Egyptian family, Adolf El Assal has studied Filmmaking at Kingston University, in the UK.
