MAD Solutions Screens Four Films at the 1st Al Ain Film Festival
Four films distributed by MAD Solutions will take part in the 1st Al Ain Film Festival (April 30 - May 3). The films are: the documentary The Borrowed Dress by Leen Alfaisal (Falcon Arab Competition), the shorts Lollipop by Hanaa Saleh Alfassi (Falcon Gulf Competition) and Sarmad by Abdullah Alhemairi (Falcon Emirati Competition - Short Films), in addition to Musk that will screen within the Falcon Emirati Competition - Feature Films. The films will screen at Star Cinemas, Bawadi Mall.

Al Ain Film Festival is an annual non-profit event that brings together professional filmmakers, promising talents, students and the public from across the UAE. The Festival gives them a chance to watch the latest artistic films and the opportunity to exchange knowledge, share visions, develop cinematic approaches and celebrate the local film industry.

About The Borrowed Dress
Written and directed by Leen Alfaisal, The Borrowed Dress is produced by Sarah Hassan and Alaa Alassad (Creative Media Solutions). The film stars Siham Abu Nabbout, Doaa Al Zoabi and Saad Alkuwatly. The filmis distributed in the Arab world by MAD Solutions.

Grandmother Susu (80 years old), her daughter Doaa (50 years old), and her grandchild Saad (16 years old) are forced to flee Syria after the beginning of the revolution to live in different scattered places, with the one thing left to share being their desire to reunite. The details of their personal stories and human experiences are microcosms of two stories: one of a population that has spread all over the world, and the other of a homeland that might have changed forever.

About Sarmad:

Omran finds himself at a hospital with no idea how he got there. He finds a car in the parking lot under his name and with his new home address inside. Once he's out of the hospital, he finds a film recorded especially for him which contains some surprises. Is this the answer to Omran's mysterious episode and the clue to his identity? Written and directed by Abdullah Alhemairi, Sarmad stars Abdullah Alhemairi, Asem Hijazi, and Priyanka Porwal. The film is produced by Abdullah Alhemairi and Ali Bin Matar. The film landed its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), where it competed within the Muhr Short Competition. Sarmad is distributed by MAD Solutions in the Arab world.

About Lollipop:

The film follows a 14 year-old Muslim girl who experiences the onset of puberty, meaning she must begin wearing a full black Niqab. When her tormentor at school swipes her jacket, a case of mistaken identity exposes the perversity of the bully's father.

Directed by Hanaa Saleh Alfassi, Lollipop stars Malak Radwan, Ayman Samman and Sarah Alhazmi. The film is produced by Hanaa Saleh Alfassi and Shannon Emigh, Co-founder of Axe Pictures in the U.S, and co-produced by Alex Lampsos and Malika Frikouk, Executive Producer and Co-founder of the Moroccan branch of the company. The film was partly funded by Enjaaz, Dubai Film Market's production support programme. Lollipop is distributed by MAD Solutions in the Arab world.
