MAD Solutions Joins Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival With 4 Films
MAD Solutions joins the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival, held from October 5th to 10th, with four films the company manages its marketing and distribution in the Arab World. The films are Algerian feature SOULA, by Salah Issaad, which will compete in the official competition, Lebanese feature FARAH, directed by Hassiba & Kenton Freiha-Oxley, which will compete in the Arabic competition, Lebanese short film AN ATTEMPT by Pamela Nassour, and the Palestinian short film BY THE SEA, by Wisam Al Jafari.



About SOULA: 
SOULA is the story of a single mother whose father expelled her, leaving her homeless with her baby. Soula finds herself going from one car to another with other people while looking for a safe location to stay the night. Throughout a night full of unfortunate events along the roads of Algeria, Soula tries her best to change her destiny, but fate has another saying.
SOULA was directed and produced by Salah Issaad, who co-wrote it with the real-life character of Soula Bahri; the woman whose life story inspired the director to turn it into a film and let Soula play the lead role. 
Produced by Issaad Film Productions (the three brothers Taqi Eldin, Abdelghafour, and Salah Issaad), the film stars Soula Bahri, Idir Benaibouche, and Franck Yvrai.

About FARAH:
The film follows Lina, a pre-med student, who starts experiencing severe recurring nightmares, her life begins to crumble, and she is sent home to Beirut, Lebanon. They prescribed her the controversial antidepressant 'Xapa' - also known in its illegal form as 'Joy' - to help her recover. However, as Lina's disturbing nightmares worsen and a link between them and her birth mother, Farah, becomes clear, she sets out on a quest to uncover a web of family secrets that will lead her to a shattering ultimate truth.
Written by Hassiba Freiha and directed by Hassiba & Kenton Freiha-Oxley, Farah stars Stephanie Atala, Majdi Machmouchi, Hassiba Freiha, and Youssef Boulos. The film is shot by  Elias Trad and edited by Marcus D'Arcy.

About AN ATTEMPT:
Just like all the Lebanese people, Alfred, a high-school teacher, tries to adapt to the new socio-political situation caused by the Lebanese October Revolution. Bombarded by the media, he ends up joining his students on the field to protest in an attempt to change.
Written, directed, and produced by Pamela Nassour, An Attempt stars Josef Chemaly and Antonio Chedid, and Features Editor and DOP Moris Zoghby. MAD Solutions manages the film's distribution across the Arab world.

About By the Sea:
Nahid tries to celebrate her husband's birthday while he is being chased by Israeli soldiers. Due to Covid-19 containment, it is very difficult for Nahid to get all the ingredients needed to bake the birthday cake. Will Nahid be able to celebrate her husband's birthday with him in their secret place?
Written and directed by Wisam Al Jafari, By the Sea stars Yasmin Shalaldeh, Ward Al Kurdi, and Emile Saba. MAD Solutions manages the film's marketing and distribution.
