Five films of MAD Solutions' distribution were able to win five awards at the 7th Malmö Arab Film Festival in Sweden. In the Feature Film Competition, Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim by Sherif El Bendary which is jointly distributed by MAD Solutions and Film Clinic-Indie Distribution (FCID), won the Best Feature Film, and Only Men Go to the Grave by Abdulla Al Kaabi won the Best Film Score.

The documentary film Ya Omri (104 Wrinkles) by Hady Zaccak won the Jury Award, which competed in the Long Documentary Competition. In the Short Film Competition, The Parrot by Darin J. Sallam and Amjad Al Rasheed won the Jury Award, while Five O'clock by Ayman Al-Shatri received a Special Mention.

This marks the third year for films distributed by MAD Solutions to compete in the festival's competitions. Last year, the two feature films, The Curve by Rifqi Assaf and 3000 Nights by Mai Masri, distributed by MAD Solutions, won two awards; the Best Actor Award went to Palestinian star Ashraf Barhoum for his role in The Curve, and 3000 Nights won the Best Feature Film Award. In 2015, the film Theeb by Naji Abu Nowar, distributed by MAD Solutions, won the Best Feature Film Award in the festival's Official Competition.

The Malmö Arab Film Festival is dedicated to screening films from across the Arab world for the different communities living in Sweden that are about 175 different nationalities. The festival sees thousands of cinema-goers from Malmö and the region as well as famous actors, directors, producers and film professionals attend the festival in Malmö to enjoy the year's greatest films from the Arab world.

About Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim:

Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim follows a strange love story of a young man living in a rough neighborhood. He travels across Egypt on the recommendation of a psychic along with Ibrahim who is almost driven mad by the voices he hears in his head. Their journey turns into a voyage of friendship and self-discovery.

The film stars Ali Sobhi, Ahmed Magdy, Salwa Mohamed Aly and Nahed El Sebai. Directed by Sherif El Bendary, Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim is written by Ahmed Amer, based on Ibrahim El Batout's story, and produced by Mohamed Hefzy's Film Clinic, Transit Films of Hossam Elouan,and the French film production company Arizona Productions led by Guillaume de Seille, along with Daniel Ziskind as Associate Producer. The film's distribution in the Arab world is jointly handled by MAD Solutions and Film Clinic-Indie Distribution (FCID), while its worldwide distribution is handled by the French sales agent
Loco Films.

About Only Men Go To The Grave:

After the Iraq-Iran war ended in 1988, a blind mother welcomes her estranged daughters to tell them a secret. Unfortunately, she accidentally dies while sharing it. During the funeral, the daughters try to deal with their mother's sudden death and also work together to unveil her secret by looking for clues from visitors. Throughout the funeral, their own lives continue to unravel, giving room for buried family tensions to gradually surface, while struggling to deal with their own secrets and deep-rooted guilt. The arrival of an unfamiliar guest rocks the entire foundation of their family. How do they deal with the aftermath?

Written and directed by Abdulla Al Kaabi as his debut feature film, the film stars Saleema Yaqoub, Heba Sabah and Abdelreza Nasari. MAD Solutions is handling the film's distribution in the Arab world.

Director Hady Zaccak follows his grandmother Henriette as she ages and crosses the centenarian milestone to reach 104 years. He witnesses the transformation of her memory, her emigration from Lebanon to Brazil and the stories of love, children and suspended time.

About The Parrot:

The film tells the story of a Mizrahi Jewish family, who emigrate from Morocco, trying to settle into their new life in Haifa, Palestine in 1948. Directed by Darin J. Sallam and Amjad Al Rasheed (Jordan), The Parrot stars Hend Sabry, Ashraf Barhoum, Yasmine Ben Amara, Eyad Hourani, Firas Taybeh, Lara Sawalha, and Ahmad Al-Madani, and written by Amjad Al Rasheed, Darin J. Sallam, and Rifqi Assaf.

About Five O'Clock:

The film tells the story of a suicidal man who intends to carry out a terrorist attack by blowing himself in the middle of a crowd using an explosive belt, as he believes that non-Muslims are unworthy of life and they deserve to die. Despite being brainwashed, he begins to think, search and wonder if all idiots really deserve to die, and will he be granted eternal life in paradise after doing so?

Directed by Ayman Al-Shatri, who also co-wrote it with Ameer Ihsan, Five O'Clock stars Karam Thamer, Safa Najem, and Karrar Al Mahdi. MAD Solutions will handle the distribution of the film across the Arab world.
