Palestinian short film
Lovesick in the West Bank, directed by
Said Zagha, shall join the 8
th edition of
Reel Palestine Film Festival (January 28
th – February 6
th), where it is scheduled for three screenings. Most recently, the film landed its Arab world premiere at Red Sea International Film Festival.
Reel Palestine is an annual film festival showing a selection of alternative Palestinian films in the UAE at Warehouse 421 in Abu Dhabi and Cinema Akil. The independent cinema platform brings quality films from across the world to audiences in the UAE.
Lovesick in the West Bank recently landed its world premiere at the
Urbanworld Film Festival in New York.
A Palestinian family hosts a young American tourist after a simple misunderstanding. But as chaos unfolds in their village, it doesn't take too long for them to become part of the absurd mayhem that immediately ensues.

Lovesick in the West Bank is produced by
Mais Salman (
Nomadic Film House), and features a stellar Arab cast, including
Ali Suliman,
Nisreen Faour,
Laith Zuaiter, and
Nabil Koni.
MAD Solutions handles the film’s marketing and distribution in the Arab world.
Palestinian writer-director
Said Zagha finished his undergraduate studies at
Ohio's Kenyon College in 2011. His 2016 short dramedy
"Five Boys and a Wheel" went on to play at 40+ fests worldwide, winning three awards in Mexico, Oman, and Algeria. It is distributed by
MAD Solutions and is currently streaming on
OSN. He is currently developing his first feature film,
"Weedestine" a heist thriller set in the West Bank, which has received a production grant from the
Royal Film Commission of Jordan.
