Lebanese Film An Attempt World Premieres at Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women's Film Festival


Lebanese short film An Attempt, by Lebanese director Pamela Nassour, to land its world premiere at the 8th Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women's Film Festival, Lisbon, Portugal. The film will screen on Thursday, November 11 at 4:00 PM, SALA 3.
 
Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival is the first International Film Festival in Portugal dedicated to women film makers of the Mediterranean region.
 
The film revolves around the world of Alfred, a high-school teacher, who tries to adapt to the new socio-political situation amidst the Lebanese October Revolution. Living this turmoil first hand gave him a fresh perspective and ends up joining the protests with his students.
 
Written, produced and directed by Pamela Nassour, An Attempt stars Josef Chemaly along with Dima Merheb, Diana Noujaim, Antonio Chedid, Ribal Merhiand Maya Fadel and features DOP and Editor Moris Zoghby. MAD Solutions is in charge of the film’s distribution in the Arab world.
 
Pamela Nassour is an award-winning Lebanese filmmaker, film critic and University Instructor. Her short experimental film Ila Haythou – To Nowhere received accolades and awards at its festival run. She started her filmmaking journey as an assistant director and editor on numerous television commercials and music videos before she delved into film directing. Pamela graduated from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik USEK with a master degree in Visual Arts - Cinema and television and she is currently pursuing her Ph.D in contemporary Latin American cinema at the Saint Joseph University Beirut. Pamela is also an educator and instructor at the Lebanese International University.  She recently accepted the invitation to join FFTG 2021 official Selection Committee. Her credits include three short films and currently she is working on her latest film, which will be announced soon.
