LIFE SUITS ME WELL joins the Critics’ Week Competition of Carthage Film Festival
 In the presence of the film’s cast and crew, LIFE SUITS ME WELL, directed by Al Hadi Ulad-Mohand, will screen at the 33rd Carthage Film Festival ( Oct.29th-Nov.5th). The film will compete in the festival’s Critics’ Week, a new section added this year
 
On a parallel note, LIFE SUITS ME WELL just won 3 awards at the Casablanca Arab Film Festival: Best Script, Special Jury Prize, and Best Actor award ( Samir Guesmi). The 3 new awards raised the film's tally to a total of 8 international awards. 
 
Established in 1966, Carthage Film Festival (JCC) is one of the oldest and most prestigious Arab film festivals. This year's edition will host the launch of the Critics' Week section, which focuses on the first and second works. Filmmakers from all over the world will be able to pitch their works in this section, which will showcase 7 feature films. Carthage Industry Days, another new section, will also launch this year.
 
LIFE SUITS ME WELL won 5 awards; Audience Award and Best Actress award (Lubna Azabal) at the Arab Film Festival in Rotterdam; the Audience Award at Mediterranean Film Festival Split, as well as the First Work Award and the Cine Club Award at Tangier National Film Festival. It had its world premiere at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Estonia, and its Arab world premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival. The film also played at the Malmo Arab Film Festival, Sweden, Amman International Film Festival, and Casablanca Arab Film Festival, Morocco. 
 
 LIFE SUITS ME WELL garnered positive critical reviews in Arab and international media, with The National News website writing, "LIFE SUITS ME WELL tells a touching story of family and Alzheimer's in Morocco." The film was praised on the DMovies website and described as "A touching, well-made drama about the bonds of family and staying strong in dreadful circumstances.
 
The film’s events take place in the mid-1990s. Fouad is the only employee at the local post office in a small town in northern Morocco. After he is diagnosed with a neurological disease, Fouad, his wife, and their children embark on a new chapter in their lives. In this new era, their home will be filled with love, sorrow, and memories. While Fouad is slowly dying, his family members rediscover themselves. As time goes by, the wounds begin to surface – but the desire to live is inextinguishable.
 
The film project garnered several awards from the CineGouna Platform, including Grand Prize and Best Film in post-production.
 
Written and directed by Al Hadi Ulad-Mohand,  produced by Kasbah Films (Karim Debbagh), the film stars Samir Guesmi, Lubna Azabal, Sayyid El Alami, and Jalal Quarrioua. MAD Solutions manages the film’s distribution in the Arab world.
 
Al Hadi Ulad Mohand is a Moroccan director. His early passion for cinema led him to enroll in a documentary filmmaking course at Paris's Ateliers Varan. He studied filmmaking at the International Film & Television School in Paris before working as an assistant director on various Moroccan and French productions. He also served as an assistant editor for a few short films. His short film, LE CAFÉ DES PÉCHEURS (2007), was screened at numerous prestigious film festivals, including Locarno Film Festival.
