Karim Bensalah’s Algerian-French drama SIX FEET OVER will be holding its world premiere as part of the Feature Film Competition at the 45th Montpellier Mediterranean Film Festival (CineMed), which will take place from October 20th to October 28th.

SIX FEET OVER follows Sofiane — the son of a former Algerian diplomat — who has lived his entire life to this point abroad. Now a student in Lyon, he is the victim of an administrative decision and is living under the threat of expulsion.
In the hope of legalizing his situation, he decides to work temporarily for Muslim undertakers. Lost in his identity and feeling bad about himself, rubbing shoulders with the dead will take him to a brighter path.
Directed and co-written by Karim Bensalah, the film stars Hamza Meziani, Kader Affak, Souad Arsane, and Mostefa Djadjam, Jamal Belmahi co-wrote the film with Karim Bensalah while Pierre-Hubert Martin lensed it and Bénédicte Cazauran edited it.
SIX FEET OVER was produced by Oualid Baha (Tact Production) and co-produced by Eugénie Michel Villette (Les Films du Bilboquet), with music by Adrien Casalis and sound by Romain Cadilhac, Benjamin Rosier, Valère Raigneau, and Xavier Thieulin. MAD Solutions handles the film’s distribution in the Arab world while The Party Film Sales handles worldwide distribution.
