Founded in 1970 in Jerusalem, Al-Kasaba Theatre and Cinematheque is a non-governmental Palestinian cultural institution. The theatre was inaugurated in 2000 in Ramallah. Al-Kasaba is a central hub that aims to encourage cultural exchange in the Palestinian context, providing an ideal space for art performances by Palestinian and international performing art troupes, from theatre to dance, from film screenings to musical events, conferences and film festivals.

Istrupya portrays the hard challenges faced by the Palestinian youth in Gaza strip, under extreme circumstances in the heart of the Palestinian provision, which forces them to flee away to the unknown that is far more tragic.

Directed by Ahmed Hassouna and written by Sameh El Qataa and Ahmed Al-Ashi, Istrupya is produced by Noor Media Plus and stars Firas Al-Masry, Ghassan Salem, Fady Al-Sheikh Yousef and Mohammed Odeh. MAD Solutions handles the film’s distribution across the Arab world.

Born in Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Hassouna is a Palestinian director. After receiving a degree in Journalism at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, Hassouna started a career in filmmaking. His repertoire includes several award-winning documentaries that received notable awards including the Al-Jazeera Award in 2013. Istrupya marks the director's debut feature film.
