Hend Sabry Joins a Syrian Family in a Collective Iftar Event in Jordan Part of Share a Meal Campaign
Continuing her humanitarian efforts in relieving and helping refugees, Tunisian star Hend Sabry joined a Syrian refugee family in a collective Iftar event in Jordan. The Iftar was organized by Share A Meal campaign, under the auspices of the UN World Food Programme (WFP).
In her capacity as a WFP Regional Ambassador, Hend has joined the campaign which aims at raising donations to provide meals for refugees during the holy month of Ramadan.
During the event, Hend stated, "Ramadan is the month in which families gather each evening for Iftar after long time of fasting, and most importantly, it's the month where everyone should share food with others. I was absolutely touched by the optimism of Abu Anas' family despite the hardships they're facing in spending another year away from their homeland and their beloved ones. This is a very hard time for them and for all Syrians and we should continue helping them to overcome these hard times, or at least to ensure their next meal."
Hend Sabry is encouraging everyone all over the world to support the campaign and donate on the following link: wfp.org/ar/Ramadan , as every donation will make a difference.
Highly engaged in humanitarian activities, Sabry has been collaborating with the WFP since 2009 to raise awareness about the hunger crisis in the Arab region. For her genuine activeness, she was officially named an ambassador against hunger for the UN World Food Program in 2010.
