Hawi competes with the Mediterranean films inValencia's 32nd International film Festival
Director Ibrahim El Batout's film, Hawi, competes in a strong contest in the 32nd Valencia International Film Festival, held in the Spanish city of Valencia from April 7th to April 14th. The film has been chosen from several films to take part in theMediterranean Films sector, where it was screened in the Mediterranean Panorama Films translated with Spanish subtitles, Monday, April 11th. Within this sector the best films from the Mediterranean region are selected to bridge cultural gaps between film makers belonging to different countries.

Valencia International Film Festival in this session presents many films, including eight international films in their premiere. The festival is interested in obtaining outstanding films from every country,especially those who lead to a boom in the film industry in certain countries. The festival is committed to providing a forum for film specialists, intending to offer the latest developments in the cinema industry.

Hawi, by Ibrahim Batout, has recently taken part in many International Festival covering several countries. After taking the Grand Prize for the best film in Al Doha Tribika Festival, Ibrahim Batout went with his film to the 40th Rotterdam International FilmFestival, held between January 26th to February 6th. The film was praised by the audiences for its high technical standards.

Hawi then participated in the 29th Fajr Film Festival in the Iranian capital, Tehran, which was held between the 5th to the 15th of February this year.
Hawi is written and directed by Ibrahim Batout and stars a wide range of new Alexandrian actors/actresses like Mohamed El Sayed, Sherif El Dessouky, and Rina Aref, including the talented Hanan Yousef. Filming was entirely done in Alexandria and produced by Ain Shams Company owned by Ibrahim Batout. Distribution is by The Arabia Company for Production and Distribution.
