Egyptian production slate Film Clinic has revealed the first poster and trailer for the long-awaited Amr Salama's new film Excuse My French. The film will screen in the Opening Gala of Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival on January 19th, 2014, and will compete in its official competition.
The trailer reveals a new scoop that's never been announced before, which is the participation of the renowned Comedian Ahmed Helmy as the narrator of the film.
Starring Kinda Alloush, Hany Adel, and the talented child Ahmed Dash, Excuse My French tells the story of a child called Hany Abdallah Peter (Ahmed Dash) whose life turns upside down after the death of his father and his mother's discovery of the huge debts they have to pay.
Hany is forced to experience the huge gap between classes after moving from his old elite private school to a public one. Things get complicated for Hany after having to hide being a Christian surrendering to the assumptions of his classmates and teachers who didn't read his full name and mistaken him for a Muslim.
Written and directed by Amr Salama, Excuse My French is produced by Film Clinic and The Producers Films which runs by Hani Ossama. The film will be distributed in Egyptian theaters by Al Massah Art Production.
Producer and Scriptwriter Mohamed Hefzy, has previously declared that the film's release date is not yet confirmed, but it most probably will be after its participation in Luxor Egyptian and European Film Festival.
Excuse My French is Amr Salama's third directorial effort after On a Day like Today in 2008, and Asmaa, which garnered 19 awards locally and internationally since its release in 2011.
