Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti Participates in Arthouse Cinema Management and Programming Workshop
Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti, CEO and Co-founder at MAD Solutions, travels to Beirut, Lebanon, to take part in Arthouse Cinema Management and Programming Workshop. Organized by Metropolis Art Cinema Association in corporation with Network of Arab Arthouse Screens-NAAS, the workshop will be held at the cinema Metropolis Empire Sofil- Beirut, from the 6th to the 10th of March 2014.

Hosting 20 participating professional filmmakers from across the Arab world including Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, the U.A.E and Lebanon, Arthouse Cinema Management and Programming Workshop is considered the first of its kind in the Arab world. The program will shed light on four essential themes namely: programming a festival and a cinema, the business of exhibition, useful means of developing an audience and the distribution of auteur films in the Arab world.

Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti will be lecturing about Arab market landscape on Friday morning, March 7th, 2014, at 9:30 PM, and in the afternoon, he will participate in a panel on Arab films distribution in theatres.

During the workshops, Metropolis Art Cinema Association hosts during the workshop experts from elite European universities such as, FEMIs and Goldsmiths, in addition to film distribution companies including Sophie Dulac Distribution and Urban Media International, international festival programmers such as Cannes Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival, as well as international institutions such as, Independent Cinema Office, all of which will tackle the workshops's themes.
