As part of its goal to attend over 20 international film festivals and markets in 2017, the Arab Cinema Center (ACC) makes its 5th stop this year at the Tripoli Film Festival Lebanon (April 27 - May 4), one of the center's partners that accompanies it at international events. Within this partnership, ACC took part in numerous events and activities at the festival.

Within these activities, Arab Cinema Center (ACC) and MAD Solutions provided figures and statistics about Arab cinema to the Tripoli Film Festival that were published in the festival's and its forum's catalogues. This information sums up the current situation of cinema in the Arab world and reveals the most significant achievements of Arab cinema on both regional and international levels.

Founder and organizer of the Tripoli Film Festival; Elias Khlat expressed his happiness at the festival saying: "It's a significant achievement for the festival to be running in its fourth edition. Thankfully, the festival and film audience in Tripoli is growing, which is very important for the sustainability of the festival. The greatest challenge is organizing the forum, which is marking its second year. The forum includes panels that aim to bridge between established professional filmmakers and young talent, whether they are still students or film graduates who are looking for guidance. Last year, the forum has helped 3 films be produced, and now they are competing in festivals worldwide. We hope that it will achieve similar, if not better results this year."

Film Analyst Alaa Karkouti took part in two panel discussions at the TFF FORUM for two days (April 29 - 30). Karkouti will be talking about the possibilities of funding creative scripts and adapting them into films and how to distribute films inside and outside the Arab world. The first session, was held under the title 'A World of Stories and the Struggles of Financing', and the other one was entitled 'Where Should We Take Our Films?'.

As part of the festival's parti-colored competitions, six films by the ACC partners, which is distributed by MAD Solutions, the ACC's organizer, are taking part. These films included two film productions by Film Clinic, and one by The Producers, namely; Barakah Meets Barakah by Mahmoud Sabbagh (Film Clinic), Before the Summer Crowds by the late director Mohamed Khan (Film Clinic and The Producers), Foreign Body by Raja Amari within the Feature Film Competition, while the Parrot by Amjad Al Rasheed and Darin Sallam in the International Short Film Competition, and Submarine by Mounia Akl and Under the Robes by Michel Zarazir in the Lebanese Short Films Competition.

The Tripoli Film Festival Lebanon is a prominent cinematic event held in the city of Tripoli. Established in 2014, the festival succeeded in attracting the attention of filmmakers and achieving the festival's mission to enrich the local cultural scene in Tripoli and promote the city as a touristic location due to its rich cultural heritage. Numerous local and international directors, filmmakers, world festival organizers and film critics have been invited to attend the fourth edition of the festival in 2017.

The TFF Forum is a serious attempt to broaden the network of filmmaking and the networking process in Lebanon among young filmmakers with an aim to discuss production and distribution issues in Lebanon and the Arab world.

This initiative gives registered attendees a chance to pitch their film projects and meet international directors and producers at the Festival, along with jury members, international festival representatives, the press and representatives of funding institutions and production houses. Besides, the forum organizes afternoon round tables for two consecutive days covering all cinema industry issues.

The Arab Cinema Center (ACC), organized for the third year in 2017, is an international promotional platform for Arab cinema as it provides the filmmaking industry with a professional window to connect with their counterparts from all over the world through a number of events that it organizes. ACC also provides networking opportunities with representatives of companies and institutions specialized in co-production and international distribution, among others. The Arab Cinema Center's activities vary between film market main wings, introduction and networking sessions for Arab and foreign filmmakers, welcome parties, as well as meetings with international organizations and festivals, and the issuance of the Arab Cinema Magazine to be distributed at the leading international film festivals and markets.
This year, ACC has attended four major film festivals so far: International Film Festival Rotterdam, the Berlin International Film Festival, Beirut Cinema Platform (BCP), and Istanbul Film Festival.
