Dr. Georgette Savvides Speaks about Her Recipe for a Happy Marriage
Counseling and Occupational Psychologist, Dr. Georgette Savvides appeared as a guest on Lamis
Elhadidy's popular TV show Hona Al'asema on CBC. During the show Dr. Savvides talked about the way to marital happiness within a segment entitled "The causes of bile in marital life."

Dr. Savvides stressed that in the happily ever after marriage, the couple equally play a major role in the success of the relationship, describing the relationship between them as the plant that lives and grows when properly nurtured.

"Communication is one of the most important things that should be between the couple, so their conversations can be logical and mature. Life is now too fast and that is what kills any conversation between married couples. They have to do their best to create dialogue." Dr. Savvides added.

In her point of view, Dr. Savvides attributed the causes of bile between the married couple to the fact that women are more emotional more than men. Women always think about their duties and then forget they are females, causing the man's frustration, which adds more bile to the relationship. However, Dr. Savvides's advice to women is to be more involved in the labor market in order to have a variety of daily tasks and concerns to accomplish.

Throughout her career as a Counseling and Occupational Psychologist, Dr. Savvides noticed that most of marital problem cases revolved around either the wrong or the quick choice, noting that the current generation is different from the old one in their inability to handle problems and being patient with one another.

At the end of the episode, Dr. Savvides advised the married and future couples to take into account the importance of friendship between both of them and to know how to enjoy the relationship with a number of joint activities between the two such as dancing. Each couple have to realize the cause of their marriage and the reason that makes them continuing with each other.

Couples have to always remember the reason they got married from the beginning and the reason they have stood together all along and that is what will make them continue living a peaceful and fruitful life together.
