The Lebanese documentary film Sunday Market: Tripoli by director Yahya Mourad won the Golden Olive Award for Best Independent Film at the 12th Notre Dame University-Louaize International Film Festival (NDUIFF) (November 25 - December 2). The film also received a monetary prize of $1300, which the film's director decided to share with the vendors that took part in the film believing that the film's success has to be shared with those who gave it a lot of their time, trust, and energy.

Founded in 2007, the NDUIFF is dedicated to short films. It is an annual celebration held under the theme of The Power of Youth as it supports promising filmmakers by screening their films for large audiences to show their talents and artistic excellence.

Sunday Market: Tripoli took part in several international film festivals, including the Urban Films Festival in France, São Paulo International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, and the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal.

Between the Lebanese civil war and the Syrian occupation, some ex fighters find themselves trapped right in the middle! Searching for their freedom, they decide to head to the city of Tripoli for a new life. There, they settle in the flea market, the Sunday Market, which soon becomes more than just a market to them....it becomes the place where they find their freedom!
