After 4 years since his documentary Living Skin, the young director Ahmed Fawzy Saleh returns to the film scene with his new documentary project, which is expected to cause a stir with its controversial subject. The film holds a temporary title which is "Fish Killed Twice" and has already entered the post-production phase and is supposed to release at the beginnings of 2015.

Fish Killed Twice has recently got a post-production fund from Screen Institute Beirut (SIB) and also took part in the Industry Forum organized by the latest edition of Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF). The forum assembled a large number of the participating film production and distribution companies in the film event.

The film traces the story of two enthusiastic football fans who suddenly find themselves charged and sentenced to death for their alleged participation in murdering Al-Ahly fans during the famous massacre that took place at Port Said stadium. This sentence could be put into effect within a day, a month or a year. Apparently, their lives might seem normal; spending their time in their houses or in coffee shops with friends; yet if you go a little deeper into their lives you can realize that nothing is normal at all.

Fish Killed Twice is produced by Haut les Mains Productions, which is based in Lyon, France, and was founded in 2009 by independent producers Karim Aitouna and Thomas Micoulet. Co-produced by Al Batrik Inc. and the Japanese Television, the film is slated to release across theatres and TV networks following its participation in a number of highly prestigious international film festivals.

Fish Killed Twice won the Post-production Award within the 2nd Ismailia Coproduction Platform at Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts, in addition to a grant of $ 15000 production services provided by Aroma company.

With his documentary project, Fish Killed Twice, Ahmed Fawzy Saleh took part in MENA Goes Berlin, a workshop held in Berlin last September for documentary filmmakers. The workshop is organized by Documentary Campus e.V in collaboration with the Goethe Institute in Cairo. Held in Germany, the workshop targets young promising talented and professional documentary filmmakers from across the MENA region who have film projects at advanced production stages. The selected projects may also have a cross-media orientation through the campus.

Ahmed Fawzy Saleh is a director and a human rights activist. Born in Alexandria, Saleh was raised in Port Said and holds a degree in History from Suez Canal University. He then studied Screenwriting in High Cinema Institute (2009). As a Researcher and a Scriptwriter, he took part in several documentaries. He directed an experimental short film, Mocha, then, he directed his documentary Living Skin (2010) that screened in 20 international film festivals and received many awards.
