Dhafer L'Abidine Enters the Race of Ramadan 2016 with Al Khoroug
After capturing the audience's attention in the Arab world during last Ramadan season with his impressive performance in several TV series, such as That Al Saytara, Oreedu Rajolan, and 24 Kirat, Tunisian actor Dhafer L'Abidine has been contracted to star in the new TV drama
Al Khoroug, which is scheduled to start filming by next February and is set to premiere on TV channels next Ramadan.
Commenting on his new role, Dhafer says, "From the outset, the script of Al Khoroug was able to capture my attention. The role I'm taking on in the series is completely different from what I've done before and offers a unique type of drama. I really hope that the Arab audience enjoys watching it when it airs in Ramadan."
Written by Mohamed El Safty, Al Khoroug is directed by Mando El Adl, produced by Aroma Pictures, and co-stars Sherif Salama, alongside Dhafer L'Abidine.
Dhafer L'Abidine has always demonstrated strong performances and has collected an array of awards for his portrayals in some of the biggest Arab TV drama hits. Last Ramadan, L'Abidine has won the hearts and minds of audiences through Taht Al Sytara (2015), which boldly highlighted the struggle of people with drug-abusing past. He also starred in Oreedu Rajolan and 24 Kirats. In Ramadan 2014, he starred in Farq Tawqeet and previously took part in Neeran Sadeqa (2013) Vertigo (2012) and Zakerat Al Gassad (2010), which featured an array of A-list stars from across the region. Originally from Tunisia, L'Abidine also starred in the Tunisian feature film Akher December (2010) and Tunisian TV series Maktoob (2008(.
Currently, L'Abidine is preparing to take the lead in the upcoming Arab remake of the famed American series Prison Break, which garnered 4 awards and 26 international award nominations. Dhafer L'Abidine will star in the role played by Wentworth Miller in the original version.
L'Abidine is also landing his Egyptian cinematic debut in the new Egyptian comedy/action film Esmat Abu Shanab.
