Debut of First Teaser Trailer and Poster for the Highly Anticipated Film 'Clash'
One month following its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival where it received widespread praise among the Arab and international press, Film Clinic releases the first teaser trailer and poster for director Mohamed Diab's film Clash ahead of the film's anticipated release in Egyptian cinemas.
The 33-second trailer features the police truck where the film takes place as though it were a night club, where loud music and green laser beams intermingle as everyone tries to escape with their lives intact. It ends with a desperate cry for help from one of the detainees.
The film's poster was designed in the form of the famous XO game, where the police truck window is situated in the middle square, signifying hope for survival.
Clash tackles the political unrest that prevailed in Egypt in 2013. Co-written by Khaled Diab and
Mohamed Diab, who is also the director, the film is a co-production between France, Egypt, Germany, and the UAE.
Set entirely in an 8 square meter police truck, a number of detainees from different political and social backgrounds are brought together by their inevitable fate, during the turmoil that followed the ousting of former president Morsi from power.
The cast includes Nelly Karim, Tarek Abd El Aziz, Hany Adel, Ahmed Malek, Ashraf Hamdi, Mohamed Abdel Azim, Gamil Barsoum and others.
The film premiered last May as it inaugurated the prestigious Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival. Landing a world premiere at Cannes, Clash marked Egypt's comeback to the festival's official selection after three years of absence. The Hollywood Reporter also selected Clash as one of the 10 best films at the 69th Cannes Film Festival.
Clash is a joint production effort between Arab and European companies: Film Clinic (Egypt), Sampek Productions (France), and Acamedia Pictures (UAE), in association with ARTE France Cinema (France),
Niko Film (Germany), Fortress Film Clinic (UAE), and Pyramide International (France). Taking part in the project are producers Moez Masoud, Mohamed Hefzy, Eric Lagesse, and it is co-produced by Nicole Gerhards, alongside executive producers Jamal Al Dabbous and Daniel Ziskind. Mohamed Diab's wife,
Sarah Goher also acted as a creative collaborator on the film, earning the title "Creative Producer". The film will be distributed in Egypt by Al Massa Art Production, while Pyramide International will distribute it in France and the rest of the world.
