Ayny Receives Karama Feather Award for Best Jordanian Film at the Karama Human Rights Film Festival
Continuing to earn accolades at international festivals with a collection of more than 20 awards, Director Ahmad Saleh's animated short film Ayny won the Karama Feather Award for Best Jordanian Film at the Karama Human Rights Film Festival in Jordan.

The Karama Festival is a six day film festival held in Amman, Jordan since 2010. The festival aims to raise awareness about human rights issues and violations all over the world through film screenings, discussions and workshops, which are also organized in schools and universities in Amman and other governorates in Jordan. After 7 editions of the festival, 356 human rights films were screened over the course of 7 years of cinema activism and advocacy for human rights in Jordan and in the region. Around 8000 spectators from different fields come yearly to attend the event and participate in its diverse activities.

Based on true events, Ayny follows two young boys who run away from their mother's protection and slack line on the danger of war to play music with the instrument they always dreamt to own. The film is written, directed, edited and voiced by Ahmad Saleh, music by Nizar Rohana, animated by Frank Pingel, DOP Lionel Poutiaire Somé, produced by Stefan Gieren, and its Arab world distribution is handled by MAD Solutions. The film is a co-production between Germany, Jordan, and Palestine.

Ayny won more than 20 international awards so far, including the Student Academy Award for Best Foreign Animation, Best Animation at the Lebanon International Film Festival, and the Best Short Film award at Valletta Film Festival in Malta and the Audience Award for Best Short Film at Mizna's Twin Cities Arab Film Festival in Minnesota, USA.

The film made its world premiere in the Muhr Short competition of the 13th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). Ayny also screened at the Palm Springs International Shortfest in California, USA, which is an Oscar and BAFTA-qualifying festival. The film's festival participations include: Beirut Cinema Days, Sudan Independent Film Festival (SIFF), Animate. Ps (Palestine Animation Festival), ALFILM - Arab Film Festival Berlin, Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts, Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen and Festival Ciné-Palestine in Paris.
Recently, Ahmad Saleh finished another Master's study in Film, in which he wrote the short film Circle, directed the short film MaaBaa and started writing his first feature. His graduation project Ayny won a Golden Oscar at the Student Academy Awards 2016 in the Foreign Animation category.
