Asmaa continues to Reap Awards in 2013
After the film's commercial release in 2011, Asmaa, directed by Amr Salama and produced by Dollar Film (New Century) in cooperation with Film Clinic, continues to reap awards in 2013. The film won the

Best Film Award at International Tamil Film Festival in Berlin raising the tally to nineteen awards received in international and regional film festivals.

Asmaa was a major success in a number of Arab film festivals, director Amr Salama won the Best ArabDirector in the New Horizons Competition at the fifth Abu Dhabi Film Festival in October 2011, and Maged Al Kidwany received the Best Actor Award. In addition, the film received the appreciation award at the Oran Arab Film Festival in Algeria in 2011, and the Critics Award for Best Arab Film at Muscat Film Festival in 2012 in the Sultanate of Oman.

In May 2012, Asmaa won three awards from the Peace Film Festival in Hollywood namely: Best Director,Amr Salama, and Best Actress Hend Sabry; for her role as Asmaa, Best Actor Maged Al Kidwany. The film also won the Golden Prize in the Eastern Film Festival in Geneva in Switzerland, the Woman's Cinema Award at the Mon's International Love Film Festival 2012 in Belgium and the Audience Award at the end of the twenty-sixth session of the Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland.

Asmaa has officially participated in many festivals; the most significant of which were the London International Film Festival, and Palm Springs Film Festival in California.

On the regional level, Asmaa reaped five awards from the 38th Motion Pictures Association Film Festival in March 2012 which are: Best Actress, Hend Sabry, Best Director, Amr Salama, Best Screenplay, Amr Salama, Cinematography Award, Ahmed Gabr, and the Special Award from the Members of the Association was Best Film.

The film also received a number of awards in the 60th Catholic Center Film Festival namely: Best Film, Best Actress and Best Screenplay. Furthermore, actor Maged Al Kidwany and director of photography AhmedGabr received a number of appreciation certificates.

More than 1000 IMDB users voted for the Egyptian film Asmaa to achieve the second ranking in the website's film rating list. Asmaa was produced in 2011, written and directed by Amr Salama, and starring by Hend Sabry, Maged Al Kidwany and Hani Adel. The film tells the story of one HIV Positive woman who has been living in secrecy and shame, hiding the truth about her disease from not only her neighbors & co-workers but her very own daughter that she has raised alone since the death of her husband, Asmaa must choose between exposing her secret or continue to suffer in silence; ultimately a choice between social and psychological suicide or a slow physical death. The Film embodies her suffering in facing the society with her disease.
