Asham Screens in Egyptian Theaters by the End of this Summer
Film Clinic has revealed that the new production, Asham by Director Maggie Morgan, will be released in Egyptian theaters on June 19th 2013 by the end of Summer 2013.

Produced by Film Clinic, Asham is Maggie's feature directorial debut after participating in a number of documentaries and medium-length films. In addition, the film is her first writing experience.

Asham stars a number of young actors and major stars including the outstanding Director Mohamed Khantogether with Stage Director Mahmoud El Lozy, and young actors: Amina Khalil, who has appeared in Sharbat Loz TV series and Taraf Talet, Salma Salem, Seif Al Aswani, Shady Habashy, Ali Kasim, Marwa Tharwat,Mona El Shimi, Mina El Naggar, Nagla Younis, Noha El Khouli, Hani Eskandar and Hani Seif.

Asham tells six intertwined stories about aspiration, disappointment, and hope set against the backdrop of a restless Cairo, itself on the brink of change. At significant points of their lives, some characters converge onto a street peddler, while other characters experience a series of events, which inevitably leads their pathways to intersect.

The film has recently received a Special Mention within the Feature Films Competition at the Geneva Oriental Film Festival. Likewise, Asham has previously participated in the Narrative Feature Competition at the 3rdDoha Tribeca Film Festival. After the screening, critics praised Asham, describing it as a distinctive venture by writer and director Maggie Morgan.

Maggie Morgan has previously participated in many films as a producer. She graduated from the American University in Cairo, where she currently teaches Film Studies. She directed her first documentary, The Picture, in 2002. Maggie's medium-length feature From Within: Her Stories took part in numerous festivals. Her documentary, Egypt in the Eyes of Mair, screened on MBC's Al-Arabiya in 2009.
