Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim Kicks Off Its Premiere with the Attendance of Celebrities and Public Figures
Two days ahead of its release in Egyptian cinemas, MAD Solutions alongside Film Clinic-Indie Distribution (FCID) held the premiere night of director Sherif El Bendary's feature film Ali, the Goat
and Ibrahim at Zamalek Cinema. With the attendance of the film's stars, public figures, and critics, dozens of camera lights were focused on the goat Nada; the star of the film as the attendees raced to take photos with her. Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim is set to release in Egyptian theatres next Wednesday, March 1st.
The premiere night witnessed a large number of attendees, including; stars Kinda Alloush, Mohamed Mohsen, Heba Magdy, Karim Kassem, Amr Abed, Amir Salah eldeen, Ibtihal El Serety, Engy Abuzeid and Hanan Youssef; writer Waheed Hamed; directors Daoud Abdel Sayed, Yousry Nasrallah, Amr Salama and Karim Hanafy; and producer Hani Osama, in addition to the film's cast and crew including; Ali Sobhi, Ahmed Magdy, Salwa Mohamed Aly, Asser Yassin, Sabry Fawwaz, composer Ahmed El Sawy, writer Ahmed Amer, director Sherif El Bendary and producer Mohamed Hefzy.
Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim follows a strange love story of a young man living in a rough neighborhood.
He travels across Egypt on the recommendation of a psychic along with Ibrahim who is almost driven mad by the voices he hears in his head. Their journey turns into a voyage of friendship and self-discovery.
Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim introduces two acting prodigies; Ali Sobhi (Ein Shams - 2009) and
Ahmed Magdy (The Gate of Departure - 2014), who stars alongside Salwa Mohamed Aly and
Nahed El Sebai.
Director Sherif El Bendary's debut feature Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim landed its world premiere
at the 2016 Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) where it competed within the Muhr Feature competition and Ali Sobhi won the Best Actor Award for his role in the film. Most recently, the film
has participated at the Festival International du Film d'Amour de Mons in Belgium, the 19th
Rendez-Vous with French Cinema in Paris and won three awards during its participation in the
Final Cut Workshop at the Venice International Film Festival.
Directed by Sherif El Bendary, Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim is written by Ahmed Amer, based on
Ibrahim El Batout's story and is produced by Mohamed Hefzy's Film Clinic, Transit Films of Hossam Elouan, and the French film production company Arizona Productions. The film's worldwide
distribution is handled jointly by MAD Solutions and Film Clinic-Indie Distribution (FCID). The French sales agent Loco Films is responsible for the film's worldwide distribution.
