Al Medina Selected for World Premiere with the Presence of Its Filmmakers at DIFF
Al Medina film will have its world premiere at the 12th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) (9-16 December). Competing at the Muhr Feature Films Competition, the film's screenings will be attended by Director Omar Shargawi, star Ashraf Farah and Producer Rula Nasser.

Al Medina, written and directed by Omar Shargawi, tells the story of Yusif who decides to come back along with his Danish pregnant wife Sarah to his home town Al Medina. His God fearing heart is following a dream of returning to his roots searching for peace and happiness with his wife and unborn child. Yet only when he kills a beggar boy, by mistake, his life changes and this throws him into the dark side of his own home town.

Al Medina stars Ashraf Farah, Ghazal, Sara Hjort Ditlevsen, Hassan Shaer, Nadera Omran, Majida Al
Bashayreh, Makram Khoury, Siham Al Kurdi, and Ali Elian along with Omar Shargawi. This film is a co-production between Rula Nasser's The Imaginarium and Danish producers Tomas Radoor and
Rene Ezra (Nordisk Film Production). The film's Arab world distribution and marketing is assigned to
MAD Solutions.

DIFF is one of the most important film festivals in the Arab world. In its 12th edition this year,
DIFF will showcase over 120 features, shorts films and documentaries from around the world and will include several world premieres. Every year DIFF presents new and exciting cinema from the Arab world and beyond, introducing audiences to fresh new talent and original and distinctive filmmaking.
