Ahmed Malek Announces the Winners of the Feature Film Competition at the Closing Ceremony of the Global Migration Film Festival
At the Mohammed Ali Palace in Cairo, Ahmed Malek announced the winners of the Feature Film competition at the 3rd Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF) (November 28 to December 18), organized by the UN Migration Agency and sponsored by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
The competition included nine films selected from among 21 films to compete for the award for best feature film.

This is not the first time Malek has been involved in a work related to the United Nations, as he was one of the volunteer actors of the World AIDS Day campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the HIV epidemic launched by the UN, and participated in the video White Point, launched by the UN, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health to combat the disease.

Malek also took part in a campaign entitled One Click to Move by the Helm Foundation, which is interested in the issues of the persons with disabilities. Moreover, he contributed to the campaign by Ahl Masr Foundation to support the the treatment of burns. Recently, Malek had participated in campaigns related to issues of migration and refugees.

Egyptian superstar Yousra was the celebration's guest of honor, and a large number of celebrities were in attendance at the ceremony, including Nelly Karim, Asser Yassin and Zab Tharwat, as well as Ambassador Ihab Fawzi, the Assistant Secretary of State for Multilateral Affairs and International Security, alongside high-level government officials, diplomats, United Nations partners, and international organizations.

Egypt hosted the third edition of the Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF) entitled "The Promise and Challenge of Migration, and the Positive Contributions Migrants Make to Their New Communities". The films were designed to pave the way for a wider debate on migration among the public. The films discussed important topics concerning migration, such as labor migration, border management and the cross-border movement of children.

The GMFF was launched in 2016 by the United Nations Migration Agency, with a large number of countries participating with their feature films and documentaries, aiming to advocate for the cause of migration.

Currently, Malek is taking part in a number of films, including his latest film Gunshot (2018), Al Deif (The Guest) (2019), Ra's El Sana (2019), and A'nha. Malek will be reintroducing himself to audiences with more profound and mysterious, performances maintaining his current place as a professional young actor.
