Prominent star Ahmed Magdy was a guest on Eish Sabahak with Zahra Rami on NogoumFM, where he talked about his latest film The Giraffe and his role in the second season of Nasiby W Qismetak TV series, which was a great success. He also talked about his upcoming projects.

Magdy said that the screening of his debut feature film as a writer and director, The Giraffe, was a crucial moment. He added, "The moment I saw the film on the screen, I realized that my lifelong dream has been fulfilled."

He also pointed out that he had wanted to be a film director for a long time, but he was taking small steps and enjoying the process instead of diving head first into it.

He mentioned that filming The Giraffe was a major challenge, explaining that he worked with two directors of photography, but he preferred to shoot it himself, especially since every shot had its own dynamics, indicating that filming took less than 30 days, from 8 to 9 hours per day.

One of the problems Magdy faced during filming The Giraffe was the disappearance of an independent actress for a month and he could not reach her, which led him to think about re-editing and re-shooting the film. However, she finally appeared and he understood the difficult circumstances she experienced and the shooting continued.

As for his role in the second season of Nasiby W Qismetak TV series, Magdy said he was enthusiastic about the role because he supports women, advocates for their rights and calls for the fight against violence against women. He did not expect that huge reaction to the series.

When he was asked about working with stars Mohamed Ramadan, Youssef El Sherif or Ahmed El Sakka, Magdy said sarcastically, "I will have them all in one film where I'll be the lead star." He added, "But I would like to work with El Sakka, especially in an action film. I will go to the gym especially for that. I haven't met him before but I love him."

As for his future works, Ahmed Magdy explained that he will start filming his new film The Crow (Al Ghorab), which he wrote and directed, in addition to Socially Unacceptable Behaviors (Tasarofat Gheer Maqbula Egtmae'yan). He also signed on for a new TV series with salient star Yehya Al Fakhrani for the upcoming Ramadan season, but unfortunately it is no longer in progress.

A multi-talented filmmaker, actor, and Yoga instructor, Ahmed Magdy was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ain Shams University, then joined the Al-Tamy Theater Troupe and worked as an actor and assistant director for three years. His debut film is the independent short documentary Magra Al Seil (Riverbed) (2007). Afterwards, Magdy took part in a workshop titled Al Zat Wa Al Madina - Al Qahira (The Self and the City- Cairo), through which he directed his documentary film, Zizo (2007). After that, he directed the film Keika Bel Crema (Cream Cake) (2008) that received the Jury Award at each of the Algerian Independent Film Festival and the Jordan Independent Short Film Festival, in addition to the Silver Hawk award at the Arab Film Festival in Rotterdam.

Recently, Magdy won the Best Actor award at the 6th Trophées Francophones du Cinéma in Sénégal for his role in Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim. This happened a few days after the premiere of his feature directorial debut, The Giraffe, at the 40th Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF). Written, directed by, and starring Magdy, the film was also screened at the Marrakech International Film Festival and the 15th Trans-Saharan International Film Festival in Zagora, Morocco (December 13-17). The film is set to hit theaters soon.
