Ahmad Al Morsy Wins The ''Award of Distinction'' from the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS)
Egyptian DOP Ahmad Al Morsy won the ''Award of Distinction'' for The Originals film from the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) after competing against the winners of the Golden Award in the Cinema category. It is also the fifth award that Al Morsy has won since joining the society last year.
Through his Facebook page, Al Morsy commented, "Out of 10 Gold winners at the individual State & Territory Awards, I received the "Award of Distinction" for my work on The Originals Movie at the 2019 ACS National Awards for Cinematography. My 5th Award from the Australian Cinematographers Society. Many Thanks to the ACS for their continuous support & recognition. Much appreciated! "
In 2018, Al Morsy won four awards from the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS), including the Gold Award in the Features - Cinema category, Ross Wood Senior ACS Judges Award for Best Entry for The Originals film, the Gold Award in the Commercials - National/International category for the Ministry of Electricity commercial, in addition to the Bronze Award in the Music Videos category for the Ann Farh Ghayeb music video (2017) by Angham.

Al Morsy is a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC). For more than twenty years, DOP/Director Ahmad Al Morsy has been working in the filmmaking industry making more than 50 films and won fifteen awards for his work. As for TV commercials, Al Morsy became one of the most important cameramen in the Arab world due to his passion in experimenting with new tools. During the Ramadan 2019 season, he directed and filmed two TV ads, including the ad for Baheya Hospital and the ad for the Egyptian Zakat House and Charity.
