A Unique Filmmaking Workshop by Nicolas Gonda in-collaboration with Film Clinic
Film Clinic has revealed the news on a new three-day workshop for young filmmakers entitled, "Creative Production and Alternative Distribution Workshop" that will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of April. The workshop will be conducted by American producer Nicolas Gonda, producer of The Tree of Life by American director Terrence Malick who won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

The workshop is targets the filmmakers/producers who are currently working on their film projects and should have a previous experience in directing or producing at least one film; whether a fiction or documentary, long or short.The participant's age should range from 21 to 45 years old and they don't have to speak English as the workshop will be interpreted into Arabic.

The Creative Production and Alternative Distribution Workshop is granted by the US Embassy in Cairo
in cooperation with Global Media Makers, and is organized by Film Clinic in cooperation with the Arab Film Institute. Applicants must send their resumes and a one-page treatment of their film project to: info@film-clinic.com or info@arabfim-institute.org. The deadline for submission is Thursday, the 23rd of March and selected candidates will be notified within five days.

American Producer Nicolas Gonda is Terrence Malick's favorite producer who produced most of his films. Gonda has been listed on Indiewire's 40 Names Who Are Changing Independent Film and
Variety's 10 Producers to Watch.

Gonda began his career while studying at the New York University, where he worked for Focus Features on publicity, marketing, and worldwide distribution of numerous award-winning films, including; The Pianist and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Gonda has collaborated with Terrence Malick in several films such as: The Tree of Life (2011), which won the Palme d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival,To the Wonder(2012), Knight of Cups (2015), the documentary Voyage of Time (2016) with long and short versions for IMAX theatres, and most recently Malick's latest film Song to Song, which landed its world premiere at the South By Southwest Festival (SXSW), in March,2017.

Besides Malick, Gonda has worked with several passionate filmmakers, such as: director Daniel Tarr in his short film Sherman and Pacifico (2012), starring Javier Bardem, director A.J. Edwards in his directorial debut The Better Angels (2014), Colombian director Rodrigo García through his film Last Days in the Desert (2015) that was headlined by Ewan McGregor, and director Steve Hoover in the documentary film Almost Holy (2015).
